Good evening. This is Weekend Update with your host, Norm MacDonald. And tonight, we'll be talking about the 29th chapter of the book of Ezekiel. Now, this is the part of the Bible where God is really mad at the Egyptians and he's determined to punish them for their wickedness. →

Joe: Alright, so we've got the 29th chapter of Ezekiel. What is it all about? Bible Expert: Well, it's a prophecy against Egypt, Joe. It's a reminder that God is the real ruler of the world. He's using Egypt as an example of how He can punish even the most powerful nation if they don't obey His laws. →

Alex: So, what brings you here today? Contestant: Well, I thought I'd take the opportunity to tell you about Ezekiel 29. Alex: [Sighs] Alright. Contestant: The chapter is about a prophecy God makes against Egypt. →

"You hear me, recruits? This is Ezekiel 29. You got Pharaoh of Egypt on the brain? I want you to listen up! This is the word from the Lord: He's gonna bring the hammer down on Pharaoh and all of Egypt. That's right - the Lord's gonna bring destruction and send them into exile. →

Listen, Jack, I tell you what, we got an important chapter here in Ezekiel 29. My father used to say, 'Ezekiel is a powerful book, no malarkey!' And I'm not joking, folks, this chapter is all about Egypt. →

Ezekiel 29 is a sad! story about Egypt. Pharaoh, the bigly leader of Egypt, is punished by God for his many, many bad decisions. The punishment is severe and unbelievable. Pharaoh and his people suffer greatly. →
