Listen up, maggots! Jeremiah 36 is all about a scroll. King Jehoiakim was told by God to write down everything the prophet Jeremiah said. So he did, and read it to the people. But the King didn't like it, so he cut it up with a penknife and threw it into a fire. God told Jeremiah to write it all down again. So he did, and this time it was read to the people. They liked it better this time. (What a surprise!) The chapter ends with the King hearing it, and still not being too happy about it. That's the gist of Jeremiah 36. Dismissed!
