Attention! This is Jeremiah 52! You better pay attention or you'll be sorry! In this chapter, King Zedekiah of Judah and his people are in trouble. The Babylonians come in and lay siege to Jerusalem. After 18 months, the city falls and the Babylonians take King Zedekiah, his family, and all the important people of Jerusalem away with them. They also take all the treasures out of the Temple. The Babylonians kill King Zedekiah's sons right in front of him, and then they blind him. What a tragedy! The Babylonians then burn down the Temple and the palace and take all the remaining people of Jerusalem away with them into exile. This chapter is a sad one, but it serves as a reminder of how important it is not to disobey God. So pay attention and remember, Jeremiah 52!
