Listen up, new recruits! Chapter 43 of Jeremiah is all about the Lord punishing the people of Judah for their disobedience. The Lord sent Jeremiah and his assistant, Baruch, to tell the people that they had to accept their punishment. The Lord said that if they didn't, He would send the Babylonians to destroy the city of Jerusalem. So, the people of Judah didn't listen and they decided to go to Egypt instead. The Lord was angry and said that He would punish them for their disobedience by sending the Babylonians after them in Egypt. He also said that He would make Egypt a desolate wasteland. So, if you don't want to be punished, you better listen up and obey the Lord!
