Folks, here's the deal: my father used to say that Jesus was a great teacher and he knew what he was talking about. In Mark 9, Jesus and his disciples are on the mountain, and Jesus literally shows them that he has power over death. He says, "Listen, Jack, if you have faith, you can move mountains," and then he does it! He makes a dead man come back to life, c'mon man!

But then Jesus warns his disciples not to tell anyone what they saw until after he's resurrected. He says, "Or uh, you know, the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

But then the disciples get into an argument about who is the greatest among them, and Jesus scolds them. He says, "What was that? I tell you what, no malarkey! Whoever wants to be first must be last of all and servant of all."

And then Jesus heals a boy who was possessed by an evil spirit, and his disciples couldn't cure him. Jesus is like, "I'm not joking, see here Jack, if you have faith, you can do anything." But then they ask Jesus why they couldn't cure the boy, and he says, it's because of your lack of faith. Not gonna happen if you don't have faith. Excuse me?

And then Jesus says that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move mountains. That's right, folks, literally. So don't forget, if you want something to happen, you must have faith.
