Folks, here's the deal. I was reading this chapter in the Bible, John 15, and it was talking about how Jesus asked his followers to abide in him and his love. He said if they do, they'll bear much fruit. I'm not joking, my father used to say "Abide in me, and you will bear fruit", though I'm not sure if he was quoting the Bible or just speaking from experience.

But that's not all, see here, Jack. Jesus also said if his followers kept his commandments and kept abiding in his love, he'd love them even more. C'mon, man! That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. Not gonna happen that often, I tell ya what.

And then Jesus said the most important commandment was to love one another. Literally, he said it was just like how he loved them. Yeah, it was kinda like, "love one another as I have loved you". Or, uh, you know, something like that.

But then Jesus said the world would hate them because they followed him. He warned them about the persecution they would face and said it would be better for them if he left, but he also said that his leaving would give them peace. What was that? Peace or persecution?

Anyways, Jesus said that if they kept his commands, they'd be his friends, and he'd tell them everything his Father told him. That's pretty cool, and it's no malarkey. So, I guess the lesson here is to abide in Jesus and his love, and keep his commandments, so we can be his friends and know what the Father has said. I'm not joking, my father used to say something like that. Excuse me, I need to go read some more bible.
