Folks! Here's the deal. I've been reading through the Bible and I want to tell you about John 17. In this chapter, Jesus is praying to the Father and asking Him to protect His followers. He says that His followers should be kept safe from the evil in the world, and He prays that they will remain united in the truth. C'mon, man! My father used to say that the truth will always set you free. Jesus then goes on to pray for the world at large and for the people who will come to believe in Him. He asks that His followers will be one just as He and the Father are one. I'm not joking, Jack! Jesus then goes on to pray that His followers will be filled with the same joy that He has been given. See here, Jack, He knows that His followers will be persecuted and He is asking God to protect them and keep them safe. Not gonna happen, I tell you what. Jesus even goes so far as to pray for those who have rejected Him and His words, asking that the Father will forgive them. That's real love, folks! Excuse me, but I gotta say: this chapter is a real reminder of the love and compassion of Jesus and the power of prayer. Literally, the Bible is full of amazing stories, but this one is particularly powerful. What was that? Oh, you know. It's a must-read, no malarkey!
