Alex Trebek: So, what do you do for a living?

Contestant: Well, I'm an avid reader of the Bible, and I'd like to share with you the contents of the book of John.

Alex Trebek: (sighing) All right, let's hear it.

Contestant: Sure. In John 17, Jesus prays to God for his disciples and all future believers to be kept safe and unified in their faith. He also asks that they be sanctified by the truth of God's word, and that they may be one, just as Jesus and the Father are one.

Alex Trebek: (annoyed) Interesting. Anything else?

Contestant: Well, Jesus goes on to ask God to protect them from the evil of the world, and that they may have the glory that God has given to him. He also says that he has given them the words God gave him, and asks that they be kept faithful and obedient.

Alex Trebek: (exasperated) Great. Is that it?

Contestant: Yes, that's the gist of it. Jesus also declares his love for his followers and his desire that they be united in their love for him and for each other.
