Peter: Alright, so this is Lamentations 3... Let's see, it's about, uh, the prophet Jeremiah mourning over the destruction of Jerusalem.

Lois: Oh, that's sad.

Brian: But don't worry, he's still got plenty of time to find some real estate in the greater Los Angeles area.

Peter: Yeah, you're right! Anyway, Jeremiah says that although the Lord has afflicted him, he still remembers his mercy, and that the Lord has not completely taken away his kindness and faithfulness. He also says that the Lord's anger may last for a moment, but his favor can last a lifetime.

Lois: Wow, that's really deep.

Meg: Yeah, and it's like that scene in The Matrix when Neo says, "I know something's wrong, I can feel it."

Peter: Yeah, that's right! Anyway, Jeremiah goes on to say that he has been surrounded by sorrow and misery, but he still finds hope in the Lord's unfailing love, which he knows will never end.

Lois: That's a beautiful message.

Stewie: Yeah, but it's kind of like that time in The Simpsons when Bart said, "I'm so bored, even a video game would be boring."
