Peter: Alright, what we got here is from Haggai 1. So, after the Israelites were exiled to Babylon, they come back to Jerusalem and they're all like, "Hey, let's rebuild the temple!" But then they got all lazy and they're like, "Eh, we'll do it tomorrow."

Lois: (interrupting) Wait, Peter, don't you think that's a bit of a non sequitir? I mean, you're talking about rebuilding a temple, and then you just go right into talking about how lazy they were.

Peter: Eh, whatever. So, then God sends Haggai to tell them to get their butts in gear and get to work. He's like, "You're putting more effort into your own houses than you are into the temple, and that's not cool."

Brian: But then he goes on to tell them that if they do get to work, God's gonna bless them and make sure that their crops are great and all that good stuff.

Stewie: Oh yeah? Well, I'm still not impressed. What else does the chapter say?

Peter: Umm, well, Haggai also says that the people should remember the Lord and remember to keep their promises to Him, and that the people need to put the temple first before their own wants and desires.

Brian: That's pretty cool. I mean, it's a good reminder that we should put God first before anything else.

Lois: Well, there you have it. Haggai 1.
