Hey, folks, here's the deal - Joshua 3 is a story about God's people crossing the Jordan. Literally, the waters of the Jordan River stopped flowing when the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stepped into the river, and God's people walked across on dry land. C'mon, man, I tell you what - it's a miraculous moment. My father used to say that God's people were learning to trust him and take that first step into the unknown. And I'm not joking here - they were being obedient to the Lord. See here, Jack, it was a big moment - the people shouted, the priests blew the trumpets, and the Lord said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses". What was that? This is a reminder that God will be with us as we take our own steps of faith. But there's no malarkey here - the Lord also told Joshua to keep his eyes open and be strong and courageous. Uh, you know, that's what we need to do today - keep our eyes open, be strong and courageous. Not gonna happen - we will not be afraid. Excuse me, but that's what Joshua 3 is all about.
