Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Joshua 22 is all about the two and a half tribes that stayed on the other side of the Jordan. Well, they thought the rest of the Israelites were gonna forget about them, but Joshua had no interest in that. He sent 'em a message, c'mon man, said, "Y'all remember the covenant the Lord your God made with you. Go ahead and take care of each other, see here, Jack. And if you do, God'll bless you and protect you as long as you stay true to Him."

So, uh, the two and a half tribes went ahead and built a big ol' altar. Now, some of the other tribes got a bit nervous about this. They thought it might be a sign that the two and a half tribes were gonna break the covenant. Literally, my father used to say, "That's not a risk you want to take, Joe". I'm not joking.

So, the other tribes sent some folks over to ask the two and a half tribes what was that? And the two and a half tribes said, "Nope, we're not breaking any covenants. We just wanted to make sure that when our children ask us about this altar, we can tell 'em the Lord our God is one, and that we're all in this together."

Folks, I tell you what, the other tribes were relieved. I mean, it's no malarkey. They were so relieved, they couldn't have been happier if they had all gotten a free ice cream cone. Or, uh, you know, something like that. Anyway, they all went back to their own sides of the Jordan. Not gonna happen that they'd break the covenant, see here, Jack.
