[Batman and Robin are standing in the Batcave]

Batman: It's time to review the Bible, Robin. Let's start with Mark 7.

Robin: Right-ho, Batman! In Mark 7, Jesus and his disciples were discussing the importance of washing hands before meals, as a religious requirement.

Batman: Jesus made a point of rebuking the religious leaders of the time, who were focusing on the minutiae of religious law.

Joker: [Laughing maniacally] Jesus said that, by focusing on ceremonial washing, the religious leaders had neglected the more important matters of justice and mercy.

Catwoman: [Purrs] Jesus also taught that it wasn't just what one puts in the mouth that makes them unclean, but also what comes out of it - like evil words and deeds.

Penguin: [Sneering] Jesus then healed a woman's daughter who was possessed by an evil spirit. The religious leaders were amazed that Jesus was able to cast out the spirit without even touching the girl!

Riddler: [Confused] Jesus then went on to teach his followers that to truly be clean, they must cleanse themselves of their evil thoughts and deeds.

Robin: That's right. Jesus wanted his followers to purify their hearts, not just their hands.

Batman: [Clenches his fist] Very good, Robin. Our mission is clear: to be like Jesus, and to strive to purify our hearts, as well as our physical bodies.
