Joker: "Ah, hello there Batman and Robin, what do you make of Jeremiah 28?" Batman: "It talks about a false prophet, Joker. A man named Hananiah says that the Babylonian captivity of the Israelites will only last two years. →

Folks, my father used to say, c'mon man, that the Lord is the only one who can predict the future - no malarkey! Well, listen, Jack, what do you know, there's an old-time prophet called Hananiah who claims he knows the future, and he's telling the people of Judah that the Lord is gonna bring them back from exile in Babylon. →

This chapter of Jeremiah is a terrific one! It’s unbelievable how many cases like this there are in the Bible. We have the prophet Hananiah, a bigly false prophet, standing up and trying to make people believe that the Babylonian captivity will be over in two years! But Jeremiah, the real prophet, speaks up and says, “Hananiah, you are overrated! You are a hater and a loser, so I don’t believe you. →

Peter: Alright, uhh, chapter 28 of Jeremiah: So this false prophet Hananiah is like, "Hey, God's gonna bring the people of Israel back to their homeland soon!" Lois: Oh, that's nice. Brian: But then God's like, "Nah, actually, it's gonna be 70 years of exile. →
