Joe: Alright, so what's happening in Jeremiah 47? Bible Expert: Well, this chapter talks about the coming of a new nation, the Philistines, to the land of Israel. They are coming to take vengeance on the Israelites and to bring destruction upon them. →

Alex: Okay, so what do you do for fun? Contestant: Well, I'm a big fan of the Bible, so I just finished reading Jeremiah 47. Alex: *sigh* Okay, so what did you learn? Contestant: Well, the chapter talks about how God is punishing the Philistines for their sins against His people. →

ATTENTION! Listen up, maggots! This is Jeremiah 47. Pharaoh's army is coming to attack Gaza and all of the Philistine cities. The Lord is warning the Philistines to flee or face destruction. He's gonna send a great flood of water to drown them out. →

Robin: Oh no, Batman, it looks like trouble! The word of the Lord says that the Philistines are coming to attack Gaza! Batman: Quick Robin, to the Batmobile! We must act fast if we have any hope of stopping them. →

Folks, here's the deal. The Philistines from down South, they had a plan. They wanted to march on the land of the Lord, but I'm not joking - that was not gonna happen. My father used to say, "The Lord has a way of punishing those who don't respect His land". →

The prophets of the Lord are warning the people of Judah about the coming devastation from the Philistines. The Lord promises that they will soon be defeated and sent away by the Babylonians. The Lord also promises that He will restore Judah and make it great again. →

Peter: Alright, so Jeremiah 47. Let's see. So, uh, it starts out with the Lord telling Jeremiah to prophesy against the Philistines for their attack on Gaza. He says that a great tumult is coming from the north, and it's gonna be like a hurricane. →
