In Song of Solomon chapter 2, we get a look at the love life of the main characters. Solomon and his beloved are both smitten and can't help but gush over one another. He compares her to a lily among thorns, a rose among brambles, and a deer among the wild goats. She responds by calling him an apple tree among the trees of the woods. Things are so lovey-dovey that the birds of the air are jealous. But then there's a warning for young lovers to not arouse love before it is ready. It's like a PSA from your mom.
