Folks, here's the deal: You know, I'm not joking when I say that this chapter of Judges is really something else. C'mon, man! It's really no malarkey that this chapter tells the story of Samson and his, uh, 'unique' relationships with a Philistine woman and then a harlot in Gaza. See here, Jack: Literally, my father used to say that God gives us all gifts and Samson had some real gifts. I mean, the dude was strong as an ox - so strong that he killed a lion with his bare hands! What was that? But, I tell you what, strength isn't always the answer, excusme. Samson allowed himself to be tricked by the Philistine woman and when he was captured by the Philistines, he was tricked again by the harlot in Gaza. Not gonna happen, folks. I mean, it's a good thing that God still had mercy on him and he was able to use his strength to collapse the pagan temple and kill the Philistines. It's a real lesson for all of us about being careful and trusting God, even when things look bad.
