LISTEN UP MAGGOTS! Psalms 39 is all about how fast life passes by, and how everything is fleeting. The author, most likely King David, is giving himself a good talking to, telling himself to be silent and not get angry about it. He's reminding himself that God is in control and has a plan. He's also trying to take it all in and recognize that life is short and he should be careful with what he says and does. He acknowledges that he can't do anything to change the will of God, so he should just be still and accept it. He ends by saying that he will put his hope in God and wait patiently for Him to answer. So, LISTEN UP, MAGGOTS! Life is fleeting, God is in control, and you can't change the will of God - all you can do is put your hope in Him and wait!
