Joe: Alright, we're back and today we have a Bible expert on the show! Welcome to the show!

Expert: Thanks so much for having me.

Joe: So we're talking about the Book of Psalms, specifically Psalm 39. Tell us a little bit about it.

Expert: Sure. Psalm 39 is written by David, and he reflects on his mortality and his struggles. He expresses his worries and his frustration, and he pleads to God for deliverance.

Joe: Wow. So it sounds like it's a pretty heavy chapter.

Expert: Yeah, it is. David is really struggling with the fact that he is a mortal being and he's powerless to change his fate. He expresses a lot of anger and frustration with his lot in life, but he ultimately turns to God in his time of need.

Joe: That's really powerful. So what about this chapter specifically?

Expert: Well, in Psalm 39, David starts by asking God to keep him from sinning, and then he expresses his worries about how short his life will be and how quickly he will be forgotten. He then pleads to God for deliverance and asks God to have mercy on him. He ends the chapter with a plea to God to help him and to remember him.
