Joe: Alright, so I'm here with a Bible Expert and we're going to talk about Psalms 13. Let's dive right in, what can you tell us about this chapter?

Bible Expert: Well, Psalms 13 is a prayer of lament by King David. He is crying out to God in a time of distress, asking for God to watch over him and help him.

Joe: Wow, okay. So, why is he in distress?

Bible Expert: Well, he is facing persecution from his enemies and he is feeling abandoned by God. He pleads with God to not forget him and to not hide His face from him.

Joe: Interesting. And what does he ask for in this prayer?

Bible Expert: He is asking for God to restore his joy and to extend His loving-kindness towards him. He also asks for God to give him strength and to answer his prayers.

Joe: And does he get an answer from God?

Bible Expert: Yes! At the end of the chapter, King David proclaims that he has faith that his prayers will be answered, and he will trust in the Lord and will be filled with joy.
