Joe: Alright! Welcome to the show everyone. Today we have a very special guest, a Bible Expert! Welcome to the show, sir.

Expert: Thank you for having me, Joe.

Joe: Absolutely! So, we're going to go through the Bible chapter by chapter, and today we're starting with Psalms 142. Tell us a bit about it.

Expert: Psalms 142 is a song of prayer and lament. It is a plea for deliverance from a situation of distress. The psalmist, King David, is crying out to God for help in his time of need.

Joe: Wow, so he's in a real bad spot. What does he ask for?

Expert: He asks for guidance, protection and deliverance from his enemies. He pleads with God to rescue him and to not forget him. He also asks for justice to be done against those who have wronged him.

Joe: Man, that's intense. So, what happens? Does God answer his prayer?

Expert: It's not clear if God answers his prayer. But, what we do know is that the psalmist is encouraged by the fact that he has brought his situation before God. He expresses his trust in God to deliver him and to do justice. So, at the end of the psalm he is hopeful that God will answer his prayer.
