Joe: Alright so what do you got for us today?

Bible Expert: Psalms 2. It’s a psalm of David.

Joe: Oh yeah? What’s that mean?

Bible Expert: It means it was written by David, probably to express his feelings towards an event or events happening in his life.

Joe: So what’s it about?

Bible Expert: Well, it’s a prophetic psalm that points to the future reign of Jesus Christ. It begins with the nations and rulers of the earth uniting against God and His Anointed One.

Joe: So the kings of the world are teaming up to fight God?

Bible Expert: Yes, that’s right. But God responds by laughing, asking why they’re fighting against Him when He’s the one that put His Anointed One in power. He then warns them against their foolishness and advises them to serve Him.

Joe: Wow! That’s intense!

Bible Expert: It sure is! He then promises to bless those who serve Him with His favor and protection.

Joe: That’s awesome!

Bible Expert: Absolutely! He also warns of His wrath if they don’t obey Him.

Joe: Yikes!

Bible Expert: Yeah, it’s a pretty serious warning. In the end, He promises that His Anointed One will reign over all the nations of the earth and that He will break the nations with an iron scepter.

Joe: Wow, that’s wild! So what’s the takeaway?

Bible Expert: The takeaway is that God is sovereign, and He will ultimately triumph over all nations and rulers of the earth. Those who serve Him will be blessed with His favor and protection, while those who oppose Him will suffer His wrath.
