Listen up, recruits! In Luke 9, Jesus is sending out his disciples to spread the word and heal the sick. He's also getting ready to head to Jerusalem, so he's warning the disciples that they better be patient and stay focused on their mission. Meanwhile, Jesus' fame is starting to spread, and a large crowd has gathered. Jesus has compassion on the crowd and feeds them with only five loaves and two fish. After this miracle, some people try to make Jesus king, but he refuses and retreats to the mountain to pray. He also takes Peter, James, and John with him and they witness a powerful sight: Jesus is transfigured and talking to Moses and Elijah. Then a voice from heaven tells them to listen to Jesus. Finally, Jesus heals a possessed boy. That's all for Luke 9, recruits!
