Batman: Holy History, Robin! Ezra 7 tells us about the priest, scribe, and teacher, Ezra!

Robin: Gosh, Batman, he must have been quite a man! How did he come to be so important?

Batman: Well, Robin, it seems that Ezra had an affinity for the law of God and was determined to observe it. King Artaxerxes gave him permission to go to Jerusalem to do so.

Joker: Ha ha ha! Think of all the trouble Ezra could have caused if he had gone around following the laws of God!

Batman: In fact, Joker, it seems that his presence in Jerusalem caused quite a stir. He brought a band of Israelites with him and they all set to work rebuilding the temple.

Robin: Wow, that must have been an exciting time!

Batman: Indeed, Robin. Ezra also brought a letter of commission from the king and a great deal of money to help with the rebuilding. He also brought many provisions given to him by the king.

Joker: What a waste of resources!

Batman: Not so, Joker. Ezra was a man of great wisdom and prudence, and he used the king's resources wisely. He was determined to use them to honor God and help the people of Israel.

Robin: That's amazing, Batman! What a great example of faith and wisdom!
