Alex Trebek: Alright, so tell me a little bit about yourself.

Contestant: Well, Alex, I'd like to tell you about the book of Ezra.

Alex Trebek: (sighs) What about it?

Contestant: In Ezra 7, we find out that King Artaxerxes of Persia issued a decree allowing Ezra, a priest and scribe, to return to Jerusalem to teach the people the law of God. Ezra led a group of exiles back to Jerusalem, bringing with them a large amount of silver, gold, and other offerings to the temple.

Alex Trebek: (sighs again) That's... interesting. Anything else?

Contestant: Yes, Ezra also obtained permission from the king to appoint magistrates and judges to enforce the law of God, and to punish anyone who did not obey it.

Alex Trebek: (visibly frustrated) Anything else?

Contestant: Yes, Ezra also set up a system of taxation to pay for the restoration of the temple and its services.

Alex Trebek: (groans) Is that it?

Contestant: Yes, that's it.

Alex Trebek: (exasperated) Alright then. Good luck in the game!
