C'mon, man! Here's the deal -- 1 Samuel 8 is all about the people of Israel asking for a king. See here, Jack, it's like this -- my father used to say that the people wanted to be like all the other nations around them and have a king to lead them. →

1 Samuel 8 is a great chapter, and there are many amazing things happening. The people of Israel have a sad! problem: they're asking for a king, and God is not too thrilled. But God reluctantly agrees and tells Samuel to go ahead and anoint a king. →
