Well folks, in 1 Samuel 3, you've got a kid named Samuel who's apprenticed to a priest named Eli. And Eli's got two sons who are priestly assistants and they're not so hot at their job. So God calls out to Samuel in the middle of the night, and Samuel is like, "Here I am!" and Eli's like, "Go back to sleep, I didn't call you. →

Listen, Jack, here's the deal! God was calling out to young Samuel but he didn't know it was God at first. He was like, "What was that?" and he went to Eli three times and Eli knew it was God talkin' to him. →

1 Samuel 3 is an amazing chapter! God calls young Samuel to be a prophet and tells him many important things. It's terrific how God speaks to Samuel and even wakes him up in the middle of the night. It's unbelievable how Samuel listens to God and follows his instructions. →
