1 Samuel 8 is a great chapter, and there are many amazing things happening. The people of Israel have a sad! problem: they're asking for a king, and God is not too thrilled. But God reluctantly agrees and tells Samuel to go ahead and anoint a king. So they choose Saul, a tall and handsome guy. He's a terrific choice; he's the perfect king. But unfortunately, he's not so great at his job and he ends up getting replaced by David.
So the people of Israel get a King, but it's not all good news. God warns that a king will take their sons, daughters, fields and vineyards. He also says the king will take a tenth of all the crops and animals, and it's a lot. It's unbelievable, very, very unbelievable.
But the people don't care! They want a king and that's that. So Samuel warns them not to forget about God, but the people don't listen. They want a king and they're gonna get one. It's a huge mistake, believe me.
So God reluctantly agrees, and Samuel anoints Saul. But things don't go well. Saul isn't winning, and eventually David takes his place. Many people are saying that Saul was totally overrated and David was the right choice.
At the end of the day, God bless America. Make America great again!
So that's 1 Samuel 8, a tremendous chapter. There are many such cases in the Bible, and we should never forget it. Deep state and fake news hoaxers should take note! There are fine people on both sides, and God has given us a lot. Let's make sure we don't forget it. God bless America!
