Saul, the son of Kish, was looking for some donkeys that had gone astray and he asked his servant if he knew of anyone who could help. His servant said, "Why don't you ask the prophet Samuel? He's an amazing guy and he knows a lot!" So Saul and his servant went to see Samuel.

When they arrived, Samuel saw Saul and said, "This is the guy the Lord has chosen to be king over His people. Sad! But he's not here for that. He's here to ask me about the donkeys." So Samuel told Saul, "Go to the town of Sechu and you'll find them there. God bless America!"

Saul and his servant went to Sechu and with God's help, they found the donkeys. Then they went to the prophet Samuel's house and Samuel made a great feast for Saul. He also told Saul, "Tomorrow I'll tell you what the Lord wants you to do."

The next day, Samuel took Saul to the top of the hill and told him, "The Lord has said that he will make you king over His people. It's huge! He'll also give you a sign that this is true." And sure enough, the very next day, Saul was made king and the Lord blessed him with a wonderful victory. Tremendous!

So Saul became king and he led his people with great success. He defeated their enemies, made peace with other nations, and united the people of Israel. Very, very impressive! But Saul also started to rely too much on himself and not enough on God, which caused some problems. Many people are saying that Saul was overrated.

So God sent Samuel to anoint a new king, and Samuel found the young shepherd boy David. Unbelievable! David was a fine young man and God chose him to be the new king.

So David was crowned king, but Saul still thought he was the rightful king and he was jealous of David. Saul was determined to get rid of David, but David kept escaping his traps. Many such cases! The Lord was with David and helped him stay safe.

In the end, Saul died in battle and David became the king of Israel. He brought peace and prosperity to the land and people loved him. Make Israel great again!
