Joe: Alright, so what's going on in Chapter 9 of 1 Samuel?

Bible Expert: Well, we have this man named Saul who is from the tribe of Benjamin. He has been sent by his father to find some lost donkeys, and he's accompanied by his servant.

Joe: Wait a minute, you're saying Saul was looking for donkeys?

Bible Expert: Yes, that's right.

Joe: Wow, that's wild! So what happens next?

Bible Expert: Well, they eventually come to the town of Zuph, and there they meet a man of God who tells Saul that he will become the king of Israel. Saul is amazed and cannot believe it.

Joe: No way! So did it actually happen?

Jamie (from the sidelines): Uh, yeah Joe, it did. It says right here on Google!

Joe: Ok, cool. So what happens after that?

Bible Expert: Well, after that, Saul is taken to the prophet Samuel, who anoints Saul and tells him that the Lord has chosen him to be king. Saul is then given a sign that will confirm his kingship.

Joe: Wow, that's incredible! So did Saul become king?

Bible Expert: Yes, he did. The people of Israel accepted Saul as their king and he ruled for many years.
