Well, folks, it's time for another chapter of the Bible--and this time it's Job 5. So, this chapter starts with Eliphaz the Temanite instructing Job on how to cope with his suffering. Eliphaz basically tells Job that God doesn't mess around, so if he's in pain, it's probably because he deserves it. →

Joe: Alright, welcome back to the show. We've got an expert on the Bible with us today and we're discussing each chapter. What can you tell us about Job 5? Expert: Well, Joe, Job 5 is a chapter of the book of Job in the Old Testament. →

Alex Trebek: So, tell me a bit about yourself! Contestant: Well, I was just reading Job 5, and it talks about how God is a refuge for the afflicted and how he brings down the proud. Alex Trebek: (sighs) Umm, that's nice, but why don't you tell me something more about yourself? →

Listen up, maggots! Job 5: God is the one who punishes the wicked and rewards the righteous. He can bring down those who are proud and mighty, and he can lift up the humble and lowly. He can bring about peace in your life and take away your pain. →

Batman: Robin, do you recall what we read in Job 5? Robin: Of course, Batman. In Job 5, God speaks to Eliphaz and tells him that He brings misery and hardship on those who deserve it, and brings joy and restoration to those who are righteous. →

Folks, I'm here to tell you about Job 5. See here, Jack, it's all about some serious stuff. Literally, here's the deal: it starts with Eliphaz the Temanite giving Job some advice, c'mon man! He's telling him to look to God for help and to be patient, because he will bring people out of their troubles. →

1-7. Job 5:1-7: Eliphaz the Temanite said: “Call now; is there anyone who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn? Surely vexation kills the fool, and envy slays the simple. I have seen the fool taking root, but suddenly his dwelling was cursed. →

Peter: Alright, so this is Job 5! The message is that if you are righteous and live a holy life, God will protect you from suffering. Lois: But beware of the wicked who can bring you down. Brian: Like in The Lion King, when Scar is trying to take over Pride Rock with the hyenas! →
