Well, it's been another exciting chapter of the Bible, folks. This time in 2 Samuel, we've got the Israelites crowning David as their king, and then they go to war with the Philistines. Long story short, the Philistines got their butts kicked and David was the big hero. →

Joe: Alright, so we have here with us a Bible Expert to tell us all about the book of 2 Samuel! Tell us what it's all about. Bible Expert: Sure. 2 Samuel is the second book of the books of Samuel in the Hebrew Bible, or what Christians call the Old Testament. →

Alex: So, what have you been up to lately? Contestant: Well, I've been reading the Bible and I just finished 2 Samuel 5. Alex: *Sighs* Alright, what happened in that chapter? Contestant: Well, the people of Israel asked David to be their king, so he moved his residence to Jerusalem and became their king. →

Listen up, recruits! Chapter 5 of 2 Samuel is all about how David became king of Israel. After the death of Saul, all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and declared him king. Under David, the kingdom was united, and he reigned for seven and a half years in Hebron. →

Robin: Holy Bible, Batman! The Philistines are attacking the City of David! Batman: Not to worry, Robin. The Lord is with David, and He will deliver the city from the Philistine's hands. Joker: Ha ha ha! No way! The Philistines are too strong. →

Folks, listen, here's the deal. 2 Samuel 5 is all about this dude, David, who was the King of Israel. Now, literally, he was a pretty impressive guy. My father used to say he was the king of kings. Or uh, you know, the king of the people. →

David, the King of Israel, was a tremendous leader. He had many victories and was well-loved among his people. But the haters and losers of the Philistines didn't like David, so they decided to challenge him. →

Peter Griffin: So, 2 Samuel 5 is all about David, ya know? He's like, 'I want to be the king of all Israel, so let's make it happen!' Lois Griffin: Wow, that's pretty ambitious. So, what happened? Peter Griffin: Well, all the other tribes of Israel came together to anoint David as their king. →
