Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Esther had the guts to go to the King's court and plead for the lives of her people. She was bold, I tell you what. And it paid off! She was allowed to invite the king and Haman to a banquet. That banquet, c'mon man, it was a party! And now the King was asking her what she wanted, and she said, "If I have found favor with you, let my life be given me as my reward, and my people as my request". That's a woman of courage, no malarkey!

And then the King said, "What is your petition, for it will be granted you". Boom! Esther said, "If it pleases the King, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Susa to do again on the fourteenth day of the twelfth month what they did on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month". Not gonna happen!

And so the King granted Esther's petition and issued a decree to gather the Jews together to defend themselves against those who sought their destruction. Excuse me! And the Jews were able to defend themselves and the Jews of Susa destroyed their enemies. That's what I call a win!

My father used to say, "You can do anything if you put your mind to it". So I say to you, folks, let Esther's courage be an example to us all. We can all do great things if we believe in ourselves. Literally!
