Batman: Robin, it's time to read Proverbs 30.

Robin: Alright, Batman!

Batman: Agur, the author of Proverbs 30, is asking God to give him neither poverty or wealth so he can stay content. He then says that if he lies and says he is rich, he will be cursed.

Catwoman: Lies never pay off, do they Batman?

Batman: No, Catwoman, they do not. Agur continues with the thought that it’s better to be honest and not get too proud. He then talks about four things that are never satisfied, four things that are too wonderful for him to understand.

Joker: What are they, Batman?

Batman: The first one is the way of the sea, which never stops its movement. The second one is the serpent, which never has enough of its prey. The third one is the grave, which is never satisfied with the bodies it collects. The fourth one is the fire, which never says it has enough fuel.

Riddler: Interesting. What else is he talking about?

Batman: Agur makes fun of those who think they are wise, and he compares them to those who think they are strong. He also talks about people who make a fool of their parents by speaking against them, and he says that a bird of prey will take away their inheritance.

Penguin: Sounds like Agur didn't mince words.

Batman: No, he did not! He also warns against slander, pride, and foolishness, and he praises those who fear the Lord.

Robin: A wise man indeed.

Batman: Indeed! Let's learn from Agur's wisdom, shall we?
