Listen up, recruits! This here is Nehemiah 8. It's all about the people of Israel gathering together to hear the book of the law of God. Nehemiah stands up and reads it aloud to the people. As soon as he starts, the people break down in tears, realizing how far they have strayed from the Lord. Nehemiah and the other leaders help to encourage them, telling them not to be sad and to celebrate the joy of the Lord. They celebrate for seven days with feasting and rejoicing. Then, on the eighth day, they gather again to hear the law and to refresh their knowledge of it. Nehemiah also appoints certain Levites to teach the people the law, so that they can better understand it and follow it. So, that's it recruits. Now, go out there and remember the law of the Lord!
