Listen up, new recruits! Ezekiel 33 tells you 'bout a Watchman! A watchman's job is to sound the alarm when danger is near, and that's exactly what God tells Ezekiel to do. He tells Ezekiel to warn the people of Israel about their wickedness and rebellion. He gives Ezekiel a message for all the people of Israel: repent, and turn from your wicked ways! If they don't, then God will punish them. But if they do, then God'll forgive them and restore them. And God says that Ezekiel is responsible if he doesn't warn them, and they get destroyed. Ezekiel is warned not to be like a dumb sheep 'cause if he doesn't warn the people, he'll be held accountable. God also tells Ezekiel to warn the wicked people of their sin, and that their wickedness won't go unpunished. He also says that if they repent, God will forgive them. Finally, God tells Ezekiel that if a righteous person sins, then God won't forgive him, but if he repents, God will forgive him. So, recruits, remember: it's Ezekiel's job as a Watchman to warn the people of Israel about their wickedness and rebellion, and if they don't repent, they'll be punished. Got it?
