Folks! This is 1 Corinthians, Chapter 2. Listen, Jack, here's the deal: Paul is writing to the church in Corinth to explain the wisdom of God. He says that the things of God can't be understood by the world, because they are spiritually discerned. C'mon, man! That's why God sent His Spirit to help us, so that we can understand His thoughts and His ways. My father used to say, "Without the Spirit, we're blind to the truth." Not gonna happen, I tell you what.

Paul also tells us that the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. See here, Jack, that's why we're to be led by the Spirit, so that we can know the things of God. What was that? The things of God are even more valuable than the things of the world. Literally! Or uh, you know, because the things of the world can only bring us temporary satisfaction, but the things of God bring us real and lasting joy.

The Corinthians were also warned by Paul to be careful about boasting in their own wisdom. That's because it's not their wisdom that saves them, but the wisdom that comes from God. I'm not joking! Paul knew that the cross of Jesus was a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles. But, it is actually the power of God to all who believe. Excuse me! He also knew that it was the foolishness of God that is wiser than man, and the weakness of God that is stronger than man. Here's the deal: the only way that people can understand the things of God is through the power of the Holy Spirit. That's 1 Corinthians 2, folks!
