Hey, folks, this is Norm MacDonald here to tell you about Joshua 10. So, Joshua is out fighting the Amorites and he's winning, but then the sun and moon stand still, which is a bit of a weird move on the part of the heavenly bodies. →

Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Joshua 10. What's the deal with this chapter? Bible Expert: Well, in this chapter, Joshua leads the Israelites in a battle against five Amorite kings. The Lord gives Joshua miraculous help by prolonging the day so that he can finish the battle. →

"Listen up, recruits! This is Joshua 10. The Lord told Joshua to not be afraid of the Amorites and to fight them. So he marched with his army to the city of Gibeon and attacked. The Amorites tried to run away, but the Lord made the sun and moon stand still in the sky so that Joshua and his men could keep fighting until they were victorious. →

Folks, let me tell you what happened in Joshua 10. So, no malarkey, you know, the Israelites were facing a big problem. They were outnumbered five to one by these kings, see here. And my father used to say, "You can't beat those kind of odds, Jack". →

Joshua 10 is all about winning! After the Amorites came out to fight against the Israelites and lost bigly, King Adonizedek of Jerusalem sent a message to five other kings to rally their troops and come and fight against Joshua and the Israelites. →
