Listen, Jack, here's the deal. Zechariah is prophesying that God is gonna pour out His Spirit on the house of David, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem. C'mon, man, it's gonna be like a fountain, a flood of mercy and grace. My father used to say, "It's gonna be like a shield, to protect 'em from their enemies." Not gonna happen? Oh, no, no, no, it's gonna happen, I tell you what.

See here, Jack, God is gonna save the people of Jerusalem, literally. And He's gonna make 'em like a blazing torch, see? That's gonna show everybody else what He's capable of. And then He'll go to war against the nations that come to attack Jerusalem. And He's gonna strike 'em down, so hard they won't even be able to stand. No malarkey.

And then, folks, this is the best part. He's gonna make a covenant of peace with the people of Jerusalem. And it's gonna be like a life-long covenant, you know? I'm not joking. He's gonna show 'em mercy and compassion and love, like nobody's ever seen before.

What was that? Oh, uh, and He'll write His laws on their hearts. That's right, His laws will be right there, in their hearts. So, they won't even need to be taught anymore. Pretty cool, huh? Excuse me.
