Jeremiah 38 is an amazing chapter in the Bible. King Zedekiah was an overrated ruler who was totally low energy - and many people are saying there were many such cases. The deep state didn't like Jeremiah and he was thrown into a horrible dungeon, yeah, a dungeon with mud and mire. But believe me, God had a plan for Jeremiah - a plan for him to save the people of Jerusalem. God sent one of the king's servants, Ebed-Melech, to save Jeremiah from the dungeon. He was a fine person, but he was also smart enough to know that Jeremiah needed to be saved - so he convinced the king to do it.

So the king sent Ebed-Melech to get Jeremiah out of the dungeon and bring him to the palace. Ebed-Melech did a tremendous job - Jeremiah was delivered to the court of the palace and the king asked him what he had to say. And Jeremiah said, "This is what the Lord says: If you surrender to the Babylonians, you will live; this city will not be burned down. But if you don't surrender, you will not escape them; you will certainly be captured and this city will be burned down."

The king said, "I'm in your hands. Do to me whatever you think is right." So Jeremiah said, "This is what the Lord says: If you surrender to the Babylonian officials, you will live, and this city will not be burned down. But if you don't surrender, you will be handed over to the king of Babylon, and this city will be burned down."

The king said, "I will surrender. I don't want the city to be burned down." So the king surrendered to the Babylonians and Jeremiah was set free. It was an unbelievable moment and the people were so happy. God bless America - make Jerusalem great again!
