4-13

Listen up, recruits! You better pay attention to Philippians 4:4-13, or else there'll be no end to the misery coming your way! This passage is all about the power of positive thinking. Verse 4 says, "Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!" This means you should always look on the bright side, no matter how dark things may seem. Verse 5 tells you to be gentle and show humility to everyone you meet. Verse 6 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." This means don't worry, just pray and trust God to take care of you. Verses 7 and 8 tell you to focus on good things and think about them instead of the bad. Verses 9 through 11 give you a list of things to think about: what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and worthy of praise. Finally, verse 12 says to "do all things without grumbling or disputing," and verse 13 says to "abound in the same through Jesus Christ." In other words, don't complain and trust Jesus to help you find joy and peace. Now, get to it, recruits!
