Listen, Jack! There was the deal: Ezra and the people of Israel were back in Jerusalem, and they were ready to rebuild the Temple of the Lord. So, they got all the materials they needed and they started laying the foundation of the Temple. See here, Jack, when they laid the foundation, the people shouted a great shout of joy, and it was so loud that it could be heard far away. Now, my father used to say, "If you shout loud enough, you can get the job done!" And it worked! Everyone was so happy, tears were literally pouring from their eyes. Even the old priests, who had seen the Temple of Solomon before it was destroyed, were weeping. But then, folks, the enemies of Judah heard about it, and they started to get really mad. I tell you what, they got so angry that they tried to stop the construction, but it was too late. The foundation was already laid and the Temple of the Lord was going to be built. Not gonna happen, pal! It was a great day for the people of Judah and the Temple of the Lord. No malarkey!
