Listen, Jack, here's the deal: Ezra Chapter 2 is all about the people who returned to Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. So many of them, folks! We're talking over 42,000 people strong, no malarkey! And they each brought their own offering with them: silver, gold, livestock, and all kinds of supplies. My father used to say, "Give an offering with a good heart, and it'll be worth more than the offering itself," and I'm not joking!

Then, things got even crazier, see here, Jack. They even started counting the priests and Levites who were coming back, and there were no less than 2,172 of them! What was that? It's like, out of nowhere, over 2,000 priests and Levites showed up. Literally, it was like a miracle.

But here's the deal, excuse me: the folks who were coming back weren't all of the same bloodline. A lot of them were from other nations, and some even had foreign wives. Uh oh! That didn't sit so well with some of the folks, and they tried to keep them out. But God wasn't having it. He said, "Let those who fear my name come in," and so they did.

Bottom line, Jack: God is good, and He wants everyone to come back to Him. Not gonna happen that some folks with foreign wives can't come back, you know. I tell you what: everyone deserves a chance to come back to God. And that's what Ezra Chapter 2 is all about.
