Hey, what's going on, everybody. This is Norm MacDonald, and I'm here to give you the lowdown on the Bible. Let's see what's happening in Mark 4. Well, Jesus is talking about a lot of parables, and he's getting a lot of pushback from his disciples who just don't get it. →

Joe: Alright, so we're gonna talk about Mark 4. What's that about? Bible Expert: Well, this chapter is about Jesus teaching the crowds using parables. Joe: Parables? What the hell are those? Bible Expert: Parables are stories Jesus used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson. →

Alex: So, tell me a bit about yourself. Contestant: Well, I'm a big fan of the Bible, so I'd like to share a summary of Mark 4. Alex: [sighs] Alright, go ahead. Contestant: In the fourth chapter, Jesus begins to teach the people with parables. →

Listen up recruits! Mark 4 is all about Jesus teaching in parables and the disciples trying to figure out what he means. Jesus tells them that the Kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed on the ground. →

Robin: Holy Bible study, Batman! What happened in Mark 4? Batman: Well Robin, Jesus taught in parables to the people. He wanted them to understand God’s Kingdom. He also warned them not to be like those who hear the word and immediately forget it. →

Folks, here's the deal. My father used to say, you gotta pay attention to the little things, and that's why I'm gonna tell you what I've learned about this bible chapter. See here, Jack, it's all about a farmer and his sowing. →

Mark 4 is all about the Parable of the Sower. It's a very, very bigly parable and folks are saying it's tremendous. It's all about a sower who goes out and scatters seed everywhere. The seed falls on different types of soil and some of it produces amazing crops, and some of it doesn't because the soil is too hard. →

(Peter Griffin) Alright, so in Mark 4, we got Jesus out there teaching the people with all these parables. He's like "Hey, it's like a farmer who goes out to sow his seed, and some falls on the road, and some falls on rocky ground, and some--" (Lois Griffin) Peter, that's enough of that! (Peter Griffin) Right, right, so he's teaching them with parables and then he gets in the boat and tells his disciples to cross the sea and he falls asleep. →
