Hey, everyone, it's Norm MacDonald here with the latest from the world's greatest book, the Bible. In Judges 6, we meet Gideon, a guy who's less than confident about his ability to save his people from the Midianites. →

Joe: Alright, so we're talking about Judges 6, what's this one about? Bible Expert: Well, this chapter tells the story of how God chose Gideon to lead the Israelites in their fight against the Midianites. →

Contestant: Judges 6 tells the story of the Israelites being oppressed by the Midianites, who were destroying their crops. →

LISTEN UP, RECRUITS! This is Judges 6! It's all about a guy called Gideon. The Lord appears to him in a dream and tells him to save Israel from the Midianites. So Gideon builds an altar to the Lord and then calls on his buddies to help him fight. →

(Batman and Robin arrive at the scene of Gideon's army, gathered around the Midianites' camp) Batman: What have we here? Robin: It looks like the army of Gideon, the judge of the Israelites. They are about to attack the Midianites! →

Listen, Jack, here's the deal: Gideon is a man of Israel who is, literally, kind of a nobody. He's out there, trying to harvest wheat in a winepress to hide it from the Midianites (that's a big no-no, by the way). →

Gideon was a great guy, but he was very, very low energy and the haters and losers didn't like him much. But then God came to him in a dream and said, "Bigly, Gideon, you have a huge task ahead of you. I want you to lead my people and make them great again. →

[Peter Griffin as Gideon] Gideon: Alright, so in Judges 6, the Lord comes to me and says, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel from the Midianites. I will be with you." So I tear down my dad's Baal altar and chop down the Asherah pole, and the people are all like, "Dude, you're gonna get it for that!" But the Lord says to me, "Hey, don't worry, I'm sending you on a mission, so you'll be just fine. →
