Alex: Alright, so what do you do for work?

Contestant: Well, I study and summarize the Bible. In fact, I just finished summarizing Acts 5.

Alex: *groans* Really? Okay then, go ahead and tell me about it.

Contestant: Sure. Acts 5 is about a husband and wife, Ananias and Sapphira, who wanted to be praised for giving a large offering to the church, so they lied about how much they donated. When the Apostle Peter found out about their deception, he struck them dead.

Alex: *sighs* So why did God punish them so severely?

Contestant: The punishment was meant to be a reminder to the church that they should be honest and trustworthy. It also showed that God takes sin seriously and will not let it go unpunished.

Alex: *rolls eyes* Alright, anything else?

Contestant: Yes. Later in the chapter, the apostles were doing miracles and healing people, and the high priest and other religious leaders became worried that their power was being threatened. So they started to persecute the apostles, but the apostles continued to preach and teach in spite of the persecution.

Alex: *sighs again* I guess that's it then.
