Alex Trebek: So, what do you do for a living?

Contestant: Well, I’ve been reading the Bible lately and I just finished Acts 11.

Alex Trebek: [Sighs] Okay, go ahead.

Contestant: Well, Acts 11 starts with Peter explaining to the apostles and the believers in Jerusalem why he went to visit Cornelius, a Gentile. God had shown Peter a vision and told him to visit Cornelius and preach to him. Peter's visit showed the believers that the gospel was meant to be preached to all nations, not just Jews.

Alex Trebek: [Rolling his eyes] Interesting... so what happened next?

Contestant: The believers were encouraged by Peter’s story and praised God for opening the door of faith to the Gentiles. After this, many of the believers in Antioch began to preach the gospel to the Gentiles and the church in Antioch grew quickly.

Alex Trebek: [Sighs] And?

Contestant: Then a prophet named Agabus came to Antioch and predicted a famine that would spread throughout the Roman world. The church in Antioch responded to this by sending relief to the believers in Judea who were suffering from the famine.

Alex Trebek: [Closes eyes and takes a deep breath] So... what happened after that?

Contestant: After the famine, Barnabas and Saul were sent to Antioch to help the church there grow. They taught the believers and encouraged them to remain faithful to God. Then they returned to Jerusalem and reported to the apostles what had happened in Antioch.

Alex Trebek: [Nods and smiles] Alright, thank you. Now, let’s move on to something else.
