Listen, Jack, folks! Here's the deal: Amos is a prophet in Judah, and the Lord God is calling him to speak to Israel. He's giving a message of judgment to the people of Israel. Specifically, he's judging them for their failure to keep their promises to God, especially in their worship of idols. He's warning them that their sins will lead to their downfall. He's also warning them that they cannot escape punishment, no matter how hard they try. The Lord says He will not forget their sins, and that He will punish them for their actions. No malarkey! My father used to say, "What goes around comes around." I'm not joking. See here, Jack, God is not going to stand for this kind of behavior. He will not tolerate their wickedness. He will bring down his wrath on them and they will suffer. Literally! Excuse me, but this is not gonna happen. God will not let them get away with it. He will bring judgment on them, and it won't be pleasant. I tell you what, folks, God's judgment is sure and certain. He will not let them forget their sins and He will bring justice to them. That's the deal.
