Alex: "So, what do you do for a living, contestant?"

Contestant: "Well, I'm currently studying the Bible, and right now I'm focusing on the book of 2 Samuel. Let me tell you what happens in chapter 12!"

Alex: [sighs] "Okay, if you insist. Go ahead."

Contestant: "Well, chapter 12 starts off with the prophet Nathan confronting King David about his adultery with Bathsheba and his subsequent murder of Uriah. Nathan tells David an allegory about a rich man and a poor man, which illustrates how David's actions were unjust and sinful. God then sends Nathan back to David with a message of judgment for David's sin, but also a promise of mercy and forgiveness. After this, David repents and writes a psalm of repentance. Finally, God shows mercy to David, and a son is born to him and Bathsheba, who God names Solomon."

Alex: [clearly exasperated] "Right. Well, I'm sure that's very interesting. But let's move on to the next contestant!"
