Alex Trebek: Alright, so tell me a little bit about yourself.

Contestant: Well, I’m an avid reader, and I recently read 1 Chronicles 16.

Alex Trebek: [Sigh] Great, another Bible fan. [Rolls eyes] Go ahead, what did you read?

Contestant: 1 Chronicles 16 tells us about when God told King David to appoint Levites to lead Israel in worship of the Lord. They were to carry out daily sacrifices and thank offerings, and to praise God for His faithfulness and mercy.

Alex Trebek: [Sigh] Okay, so what else happened?

Contestant: David then appointed singers to praise the Lord with stringed instruments and cymbals, and he also appointed the priests to play trumpets before the ark of the covenant. Then he commanded everyone to give thanks and praise to the Lord and to sing His praises.

Alex Trebek: [Sighs] Great, great. Anything else?

Contestant: Yes, this chapter also tells us that David wrote a song of thanksgiving to the Lord and gave it to the Levites to sing. He appointed Asaph and his family to sing this song every day and he also appointed Obed-Edom and his descendants to guard the ark of the covenant.

Alex Trebek: [Sighs heavily] Alright then. Well, let’s move on to something else.
